Baptism Day

 Precious Hallie,

As I sit here looking over the hills and Lake Chelan the morning of your baptism, I can't help but stand in awe at the goodness of God. From the moment that you took your first breath, you have been a picture of the grace of God in our lives. Grace is unmerited favor and undeserved blessing. And that's exactly what you are. The goodness of our Savior in one precious face. Last night as I was preparing for today, I was looking back through pictures and reading through old blog posts and re-reading the prayer I've been praying over you your whole life. It's so cool to see that God is answering every prayer in the person that you are becoming. I have been praying that you would be confident and courageous and gracious and kind. I've been praying that you would love and serve Jesus with your whole heart. I've been praying that you would see yourself through the eyes of Jesus - a picture of perfection just as an artist sees his beautiful creation. Hallie, you are becoming all of those qualities played out on a daily basis and so much more. You have the heart of a warrior that doesn't back down. You tackle hard things without a second thought. You love and serve with your whole heart. You have an amazing gift of making anyone feel loved and welcome. And you can find common ground and strike up a conversation with every single person you meet. I love you. I love the person that you are becoming. I love that you call me mom and I get to watch your life unfold before my eyes. You are a masterpiece. Keep rockin it girl! I'm so incredibly proud of you!
