Jovie girl, you are finally this many 👌!!! And you’ve been counting down each and every day up until this point. You’ve been planning your Mermaid party (which will take place in the morning) and wishing for your make up table (which you got tonight)! You’ve been scheming about what it might be like to be three, even though you’d much rather be four (or maybe 6). You absolutely fill our lives with an incredible amount of overwhelming joy! You’re tiny body is filled to the max with spunk, a giant personality, a hilarious sense of humor, sweetness that melts our hearts, and a strong slice of sass. And it’s definitely the perfect combo to keep us laughing all the time and doing whatever we can to be ‘your favorite’ each day. Simply put, you are heaven on earth...the perfect addition to any dance party, the most entertaining Trader Joe’s shopping buddy, the sweetest snuggle bug, and our absolute FAVORITE three year old. You are the sprinkles to our ice cream Sunday and we adore you.
We have had SO MUCH FUN this year. Your second birthday was our first gathering in our new lake house and everyday since then has been filled with crazy shenanigans. Dance parties fill most afternoons as you yell at Alexa to play 'Frozen' or 'Let Go' by Hillsong. We rock out to Moana, and sing 'Hos-bin-ya' at the top of our lungs from the Lion King. You LOVE dancing and can somehow remember the moves that you've see and the ones you choreograph. And your face always says it all...all of that overwhelming joy is on display at all times (unless the sass it coming in strong)! Your little face lights up with joy when you see your kids or your Neshems. And of course, you melt our hearts when you light up for us. You love snuggling, books, dolls, toys, and making your siblings clean your room. You generally get anything and everything that you want because none of us can ever say no to you! We all compete to be your favorite every single day and feel so lucky when you pick us! Jov, you are precious beyond words!
This year was full of crazy and fun adventures! We visited Grammie in California and did all of our favorite things - and swam and hammocked until our hearts were content. We went to Disneyland with the Neshems for what was the most fun trip EVER! You had a person catering to your every want and need for the entire week! You met the princesses, loved the parades, marveled at Cars Land with me, and took some great stroller naps! We went to Bend for tubing, skiing, and ice skating and you ROCKED your first time on skis...trying with all your might to go faster then that little hill would allow. And you were absolutely the most adorable baby skier that I've ever seen!!! We spent spring break in California again with Grammie and I don't think you've ever been so sick but somehow rallied (after the throw up stopped) to continue on with our amazing adventures. Then we spent an incredible 10 days in Maui which I think is all of our favorite. Seeing the world through your eyes makes everything so magical. The wonder within you in fills my heart with the greatest joy. I can't imagine a time that you didn't exist because you are infectious and glorious.
Jovie Pentz, I cannot put you into words. You fill our hearts with joy, our mouths with laughter, and my arms with snuggles. I often have tears in my eyes because of the gift that you are...you're beyond my comprehension and my wildest dreams.
So today, I pray this prayer over your life.
Jesus,
I lift up my sweetest baby girl to you. In my weakness and shortcomings as a mom, you are so very strong. You have created an absolute masterpiece in Jovie Kalei Pentz. I am constantly in awe at the wonder of who she is. She is wild and crazy, yet gentle and loving. She is gorgeous beyond words and precious beyond measure. Jesus, take her precious life and hold it so close to your heart. It is my deepest desire that she would come to know you and the power of your resurrection. That she would love and serve you and love and serve your people with every fiber of her being. And that she would be deeply loved in return. Jesus, raise her up to be a mighty woman that stands for the good of all and points people to you. May she fight for justice, mend the brokenhearted, break barriers, and love deeply. May you lead her, guide her, and let your amazing grace fall upon her as she fights back the darkness for your name. Jesus, give her incredible confidence and strength as she pursues the life that you have called her to. Oh Lord, it is my greatest honor and privilege to be her mom. I dream of the day that I will hear her name announced as she walks across the stage to receive her high school diploma, and then her college diploma and beyond. I can picture it now, seeing sweet Jovie in a white gown as the most beautiful bride. Jesus, I pray for her future spouse, that he would love her like you do and lay his life down for his bride. And I have tears in my eyes even now as I imagine the day that Jovie becomes a mom and instantly knows this crazy and incredible love that I feel for her. Jesus, thank you so much for her precious life. Thank you for the gift that she is to our family. Lead her. Guide her. Let your grace wash upon her. She is your beautiful daughter and I am humbled at this opportunity to love her every day of her life.

Jovie, today and everyday, I am absolutely overjoyed that I get to be your mom. You are nothing short of Gods masterful and perfect creation. You are beautiful beyond words and you bring joy to everyone you meet. I love you precious girl.
