Grace

What is grace? In the New Testament grace means God’s love in action towards men who merited the opposite of love. Grace means God moving heaven and earth to save sinners who could not lift a finger to save themselves. Grace means God sending His only Son to descend into hell on the cross so that we guilty ones might be reconciled to God and received into heaven. ‘God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God' 2 Cor 5:21

J.I. Packer

Grace is God's unmerited favor upon our lives. As much as I try, it is difficult for me to grasp this concept. Why would Jesus die for me when I deserve to be the one crucified? Why would God pour out his immeasurable blessings on my life? It's all GRACE! It's God's amazing grace! So today and everyday, I am celebrating grace...the fact that God runs to us with arms wide open even when we are far off. The fact that the Creator of the Universe loves me, cherishes me, and lavishes his love upon me. It is the desire of my heart to bring a smile to his face, to delight myself in him, and to love others the way that he loves me. That is the Christmas story...covered in grace. That Jesus would come here to earth, live a sinless life, and then die for me so that I could spend eternity with him! Life is good and my heart is full!
